The Zürg 3 Plugin is distributed as a CCX file, which is the new standard for Adobe’s extensibility platform.

This makes it very easy to install using the Creative Cloud Desktop official app by Adobe (CCD) which manages all Plugins installations from a single centralised place.

As moving the files to the appropriate folder and loading it inside Photoshop CC is now managed by the Creative Cloud Desktop app, there is no need to have different versions for MacOS and Windows computers, as both platforms are natively supported with the CCX format.

The first thing you need to do is to Download the installation file in .zip format from the link provided (either in the Purchase Receipt email or the Your Downloads section of your User Area) and unzip its contents to an easy-to-find place on your computer (for example, the Desktop).

Once you have the file contents ready you can proceed with the installation, using one of the below methods:

  1. Double click on the .CCX file
Please make sure not to use “open with” or try to open the CCX file with either Photoshop or the Adobe installer, as this will likely fail. The correct app is a hidden Adobe helper app called UPIA that loads the CCX in the Adobe installer, but that installer will not accept the file directly. If you have changed the default app, please see the steps below to change it back to the correct app.

  2. This should open the Creative Cloud Desktop app (CCD) and ask you to confirm you wish to install a non-marketplace Plugin: click on Install.

  3. A new pop-up will appear asking you to explicitly approve the Plugin’s requests in terms of connection and access to the system resources: click OK
(these are necessary for the plugin to perform license validation checks and to be able to read/write the necessary files on your device)

  4. If you don’t automatically see the Plugin open in Photoshop (it won’t show if Photoshop was closed during installation) go to the Plugins menu or the Plugins panel and look for the Zürg 3 Plugin.

If you don’t have the Creative Cloud app or the Standard installation doesn’t work for some reason, you can try installing the Zürg 3 Plugin manually inside Photoshop.

    1. Open the Manual Installation folder that is included in the .zip file

    2. Open your Photoshop 20XX folder (the number depends on the version you want to install the plugin into)

    3. Find and open the Plug-ins folder inside it.

    4. Drag or Copy & Paste the folder with the plugin name that you found within the Manual Installation folder directly inside the Plug-ins folder.

    5. Restart Photoshop if it was open.

    6. Go to the Plugins menu or the Plugins panel and look for the Zürg 3 Plugin.

The first time you open the Zürg 3 Plugin it will ask you to input the License Key associated with your license.

You can find the License Key in various places during the purchase process:

    1. In the Confirmation Page that was shown right after the purchase completed.

    2. Inside the Purchase Receipt email you received in the inbox of the email address you used during the checkout process.

    3. Inside your User Area, clicking on the “View Licenses” link of the relevant Order details and then on the Key icon on the Zürg 3 Plugin row.
